**We currently have an opening for a JRF position! **
We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to join our DRDO-funded project focused on the development of a transdermal drug delivery patch for preventing specific sensory deficits. This project integrates hydrogel-based drug release systems, nanomaterials, in vitro and in vivo preclinical models to develop an innovative solution for personnel operating in extreme environments.
Key Responsibilities:
The JRF will be responsible for the design and development of transdermal patch systems with controlled drug release properties, optimizing polymeric formulations for prolonged diffusion. The role involves conducting in vitro studies to evaluate drug release profiles and functionality in cultured cells, along with assisting in the development and characterization of a preclinical model, including behavioral and microcirculation studies. A strong interdisciplinary approach, problem-solving ability, and a full three-year commitment to the project are essential.
Eligibility Criteria (as per DRDO/DST guidelines):
Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in basic sciences (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related Life science fields) or a graduate/postgraduate degree in a professional course, meeting the eligibility criteria set by DST/DRDO (JRF guidelines). Candidates must have qualified a national-level exam such as NET/GATE or an equivalent selection process conducted by a central government agency (e.g., DST, DBT, DRDO, ICMR, ICAR, IISc, IITs, IISERs, NISER, etc.). Prior experience in hydrogel systems, transdermal patch development, drug delivery, cell culture, or preclinical models is highly desirable. A strong commitment to the full three-year tenure of the project is an absolute requirement.
Emoluments and Duration:
The selected candidate will be appointed as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) with a fellowship of ₹37,000 + 27% HRA per month for the first two years. Upon satisfactory performance, the position will be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the third year, with a revised fellowship of ₹42,000 + 27% HRA per month. This is a three-year position (2025–2028), and applicants must be fully committed to the duration of the project.
Applicants should submit a single PDF file containing their Cover letter, CV, and proof of eligibility via email. The file name must include the applicant’s full name for easy identification. Emails should be sent to Sahadev (sahadev.bt.ls@msruas.ac.in) with the subject line: “JRF at RUAS, Bangalore” to ensure proper processing.
