Neural inputs in tissue regeneration, nerve micro-circulation, diagnostics, and nerve targeted therapies.
Welcome to the Shankarappa Lab at RUAS Bengaluru!Â
The Shankarappa Lab, based at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) in Bengaluru, India, is an academic research laboratory specializing in neuroscience, drug delivery, and diagnostics. Our research focuses on nerve microcirculation and its role in tissue regeneration, exploring how neural inputs influence healing and disease progression. We are also developing nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems for axonal targeting, with the goal of improving therapeutic precision in neural disorders. Additionally, we investigate diagnostic applications by leveraging neural mechanisms and model systems such as the C elegans worm to advance early disease detection strategies.
We foster a conducive research environment where students and scholars are encouraged to explore new ideas, take bold scientific approaches, and perform experiments without fear of failure. Our lab thrives on collaboration and innovation, making it an ideal space for those passionate about translational neuroscience and biomedical research.
Previously located at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, we relocated to RUAS in early 2024 to expand our research capabilities and interdisciplinary collaborations.
